Art Clay Silver
This fantastic clay is made of finely ground pure silver mixed with non-toxic binders and water. When fired, the binders burn away leaving pure, 99.9% silver. All of our pieces are hallmarked.
The Process
You can order over the internet, visit me at an event, at my studio or host a party, the process is the same. Please view examples of my products, and decide on what type of jewellery design you would like, fingerprint jewellery, handprint and footprint jewellery or artwork jewellery and then what type of jewellery you would like, eg. pendant, dogtag, charm, keyring, bracelets, cufflinks etc. You can design your own to some extent in terms of shape, thickness, where to put the fingerprint or other design, and you can also add on a name, small message or date of birth. The writing can be hand written or stamped with different fonts to choose from.
Fingerprint Jewellery
If you are ordering online I will send you a mold with detailed instructions for you to take the impression of your child's fingerprint and return it to me in the prepaid envelope provided. Once received I will make a cast of the fingerprint to imprint into the silver. If in person I will roll out the art clay silver, take an impression of your child's fingerprint by gently but firmly pressing it into the clay and then shape the clay to your chosen shape. The clay is safe to use and is very quick. I will then take the clay back to my studio and add the details requested. ie name and birthstone.
Hand and Foot Print Jewellery
For handprints, footprints and paw prints, I will take an imprint in person or post you some inkless wipes and paper with instructions. These wipes were developed in the US for maternity wards. Once the prints are taken return them to me in the envelope provided and I will then make your beautiful memory in silver. Remember if you have a print that you have already taken when your child was first born or an older sibling and would like to use them, you can email me a scanned copy or a photocopy and I will contact you with whether the print is usable.
Art Work Jewellery
All I need for this is a copy of your favourite drawing and I will do the rest. You can either scan the drawing into your computer and email it to me, post it to me (a good clear photocopy) or give it to me at an event. (Please no precious original drawings). The drawing does need to be simple and drawn with a thick black pen. I may need to tweak the drawings slightly but will email you a copy of any changes to get your permission to go ahead and make the piece of jewellery. Lines drawn very close together and not attached to the rest of the picture (floating) can be difficult.
